About The Kelty Foundation

The Kelty Foundation was founded by Kerry and Ginny Dennehy in memory of their son, Kelty Patrick Dennehy, who tragically lost his battle with depression, followed by the loss of his younger sister, Riley. Since its establishment in 2001, the foundation has raised nearly $8 million to support mental health initiatives, including the creation of the Kelty Mental Health Resource Center at BC Children’s Hospital and the Kelty Patrick Dennehy Resource Center at the HoPE Center at Lions Gate Hospital. The Foundation has partnered with organizations such as VGH, the BC Crisis Centre, Jack.Org, and Whistler Community Services Society, contributing to significant advancements in mental health care and resources.

The Kind Mind Program is a new mental health initiative by The Kelty Foundation that focuses on upstream prevention and is designed to equip parents, educators, and children with the tools to build resilience, foster meaningful conversations about mental well-being, reduce stigma, and raise awareness of mental health resources before a crisis arises.
